Revlon Nail Art Break-Up

I might be the world's worst nail artist. But I still like playing with them so I snagged three brand new Revlon Nail Art Break-Up polishes.

I got Cruel Intentions, Steamy Affair, and Heart Break. If you notice each one of these have two polishes on each side. They have a number on each end so you know which one to put on first.

Directions as listed by Revlon :

Apply 2 coats of #1 and let dry.
Overlay #2 for crackle effect.

Steamy Affair has a nude base color and an orange crackle on top. The orange isn't as bright as I was hoping but more muted. I'm not 100% sure I like it.

Heart Break has a pink glitter base and red crackle on top.

This was after 3 layers of the pink base. Nothing but chunky glitter that got all over the place.

And then when I added the red polish, there was no crackle! What the heck? It just looked awful.

Finally I tried the Cruel Intentions and this one happened to be my favorite. The base is a gold chrome and the top coat is black. It turned out way better than what the picture shows.

I'd like to note that every crackle polish was thinker than its counter parts.

Overall I wouldn't pay full price ($8.95) for these. I do like the shatter trend but I'll probably pick different type of nail polishes next time.

Did these work out for you? Tell me your thoughts.

  2. Thanks for this post. I thought about trying these, but now I think I will pass. I found your blog through Blog Love Therapy's blog hop.

    1. I really wanted to like them but the color combinations weren't my favorite.

  3. Ooh, these look like a bunch of fun. Don't think that I would pick up the crackle ones though!

    Thanks for the post!

  4. I've not heard of this product by Revlon before! Seems quite innovative, though I'm not sure I'd combine some of the colours/crackle coats together. Cruel Intentions is definitely my favourite too, love the contrast of the base and the crackle coat :)

    1. Yeah Cruel Intentions is the winner for me. The rest didn't stand out.

  5. Found you via the blog hop! Great blog! :) xx

  6. The cruel intentions one looks nice!
