Nuance Salma Hayek Neutral Eye Quad

Nuance is a new make up brand in the drugstore world and they also have a skin care line out which I'll get into later. The first thing that caught my eye from their display were these eye quads that looked huge in the box.

As you can see below the box was a little damaged but the product was fine inside so I bought it anyways.

"Fine-milled pigments leave a light, velvety finish that spreads and blends easily. Rice Lipids and Vitamin E condition, nourish and protect lids."

In the back there is a small instructional guide to place the eye shadows which is always appreciated.

The quad looks like a tear drop to me but I think it's supposed to resemble a flower bud.

It fits on the palm of my hand and I compared the size to the new 2012 Milani face powder to give you an idea. It's still too bulky for this to be travel friendly in my opinion.

The quad includes these 4 colors:

  • Toasted Almond
  • Shimmering Bronze
  • Champagne Gold
  • Frosted Blush

In the middle is a small sponge tip applicator which is useless and unnecessary.

My first impression was wow, these look so expensive and fancy! But then I swatched them. They are so light! The pigmentation was awful and when I tried to blend them on my eyes they became muddy. Ugh. No one wants muddy eye lids and if you do then pick these up.

The only one I found a little chalky was the Toasted Almond, the darkest shade.

These are usually about $8-10 but sometimes you'll see a buy one, get one half off.

Overall I'm disappointed with Nuance Salma Hayek Neutral Eye Quad. I was expecting more and I got less.

Have you tried this? What do you think about it?

  2. The packaging is so cute but I suspected they would be rubbish because I have seen them marked down to ridiculously low prices.
